Privacy Policy
Customer Due Diligence is required to be completed by WeCare Finance under the AML/CFT Act.
We are subject to the Privacy Act 2020 and are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. The information which is collected is managed and collected in accordance with the Privacy Act but governed by our obligations under the AML/CFT Act.
We will collect information directly from you or via your Broker.
We will retain such information for a period of 7 years after the business relationship has ended. Once 7 years have passed, we will arrange for the safe destruction of any electronic and paper–based records.
We will disclose personal information which may be required to uphold or enforce the law or otherwise in accordance with the AML/CFT Act or Privacy Act.
We will use personal information such as names, dates of birth, nationalities, and sex to determine if there are any matches or connections to being a politically exposed person. Once WeCare Finance receives any personal information from you, WeCare Finance will hold that information securely.
When you apply for a loan either in person, via a broker or via our website, you authorise WeCare Finance to do or have access to:
- Credit check
- Drivers Licence check
- Personal Property Security Register check
- Motochek on any vehicle being provided as security
- Ministry of Justice Fines check
- AML checks (Anti Money Laundering and Politically Exposed Persons)
Any other checks that WeCare Finance deem relevant in your application for finance.
- Provide your last 3 months bank statements from all your bank accounts
- Proof of address
- Employment Agreement/s
- WINZ Statements/ Tenancy Agreement or Third party confirmation of your living arrangements if there is no tenancy agreement or home ownership in your name.
Disclosing your information to third parties during the term of your loan:
We may disclose any relevant information about you where we are legally entitled including:
- Professional budget advisors
- Debt collection agencies
- Co–borrowers
- Other credit providers: Brokers (only your broker if your loan was approved through them)
We do not provide any of your personal information to:
- Marketing companies
- Any other company, corporation or person who is not legally entitled
ID Verification:
If you are not known to us and your application is via our website then as part of our AML requirements, we are required to identify you by way of a device camera and your location.
We know the importance of protecting your personal information that you have provided us. Our highly professional team has a confidential clause in their employment agreements and is governed by privacy laws. Our team only accesses your information provided as when they are actively involved in any part of your loan throughout the term of the loan.
We provide you access to such personal information collected from you and provide an allowance for the correction of any information held which is factually incorrect. We will not provide access to information that may prejudice our obligations under the AML/CFT Act.
